Wasn’t sure where to post this, but I just wanted to thank the Razzball crew for helping win my league. 14 team league w/ $40 buy in. You all helped me haul in 300 big ones this year. First time I’ve ever won a league that meant anything (football or baseball). When I get my check I will have to buy a few daiquiri’s. Thanks again.

@Grey: I think including a 19 year old is a pretty transparent attempt at creating drama via a split in the house, and that she’ll stir up some passion (heheh… that was hilarious).

Just drafted my postseason fantasy team. 3 Teams, 6 Bats, 4 Pitchers, standard points league (only 10 moves allowed):

Curtis Granderson
Prince Fielder
Mark Teixeira
Ryan Howard
Robinson Cano
Ryan Braun

Roy Halladay
Justin Verlander
Ian Kennedy
Mariano Rivera

I need some advice… nah, just kidding. My chihuahua’s bunghole is deeper than this league, we’re just doing it for a goof (the league, not my dog’s bunghole). The actual reason why I brought this league up is because the site that’s running it (fantasypostseason.com) let’s you set up the league so that a player may be owned by more than one team, which I think is a pretty cool little wrinkle. Sort of a compromise between the standard “draft your team” league and the “salary cap pick whoever you want” league.

I drafted the worst team ever-Choo, Heyward, Dunn, Anderson, Liriano, Figgins, etc.- and you asked me at the start of the year if I punted everything. So…thanks for preparing me for a terrible h2h year. However, without your help I would not have been able to finish 9th out of 14 teams! Seriously, how could 5 teams have been worse than mine? The answer is you, Grey.

I watched the remainders of the Braves, Rays, and Red Sox games at a bar in downtown San Diego after departing the Padres season finale. The bar exploded when the Rays clinched. It was like the Padres had just won the world series. Really goes to show how quickly a team’s popularity can plummet when they win a couple of world series and buy your hometown hero. Probably doesn’t help that Rizzo couldn’t get his avg over .200.

Thanks for everything this year Grey. I don’t know what I will read with my morning coffee for a while. If you don’t mind I’ll run a keeper question by you. In my 5×5 roto league (14 teams) I was just offered Verlander for Votto. I already have A-Gon but was planning on going in with my corner spot filled. Is it worth pulling the trigger and targeting someone (a Hosmer type) later in the draft or going in strong with 1b and CI filled. (We keep six and currently I don’t have a starting pitcher) Thanks.

@Grey: I think we both know that he won't stay healthy, at least as a whole. Sure, he'll have some nice healthy half seasons at a time in the first few years (much like Soriano), but the back half of his soon to be 7-8 yr contract is gonna be an ugly one....his legs are gonna be toast and he'll be a 20 mil/yr Rafael Furcal.

I’d like to thank Grey and Rudy and all the razzballers for outstanding help throughout the year. I was able to reclaim the title in my keeper league with your assistance. Although I may not have asked many questions, I have read every article and every comment and all of the insight was instrumental in my win. This year’s win is important but this site has also helped set me up for the future too.
