@royce!: If I win this week and make it to the finals next week, I am gambling on McCarthy as a two-starter. I think working with The Ryan Express down on the farm gave him confidence and a more refined delivery or some such jazz. Against those offenses, I will be rolling the dice. That is if I make it. Please knock on wood. @Grey: Again, if I end up playing in the finals next week I want to start Pelfrey at Home (2.66 ERA, 3 HRA in 101 1/3 IP) against Washington (Bergmann) over Dempster on the Road vs St. Louis (Lohse). I am much more worried about the Cards than the Nats despite their recent winning streek. Is this too much of a homer move to justify for the Finals?

@Grey: Last two starts have totalled 12.2 innings I think. Read somewhere that he has never thrown a CG - maybe they are fixated on getting him to that milestone.

Still working on putting together a group of 2 starters for next week, and right now I have Petit, but given his performance tonight (4 IP, 5 ER so far) I am thinking about dropping him for, of all people, a TEX starter, Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy’s starting next week at OAK and SEA, both of whom have OPS against RHPs under .700. Should I do this? (Btw, I won’t necessarily start him– it would just be for insurance against the possibility that my opponent has 2 or more 2 starters).

Parra is a safe sit tonight vs. the Mets right? As I’ve been more selective since I’ve run into the innings overage, my ERA and WHIP are insane and I don’t want Parra to pull a Volquez.
