As you read in the title, this is the second installment of the bullpen check-up. Today we look at the American League. (The National League middle relievers post is there, and Grey’s Closer Look.) The options seem to be less as compared to the NL, but quality is still abundant. So enjoy my targets for Holds in the American league. As per the NL post the Peeping Tom’s are guys that you want to watch from a far, but don’t get caught looking too long because it’s the clinker for you or in actuality a miss on the waiver wire. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Bullpens. I couldn’t love them more. They are good and good for you like a bowl of prunes or a pile of old Mad magazines. So with the season approaching I delve into the Hold guys that you want to focus on if your league is awesome enough to include them as a counting stat category. Today is the NL edition, personally I like taking pitchers from the NL to add depth to my bullpen. They have to face weaker line-ups and more pinch hitters. So enjoy who I think you should own in the Who You Want category. I also added a few from each team for you to keep an eye on (but not get noticed doing it by your leaguemates) in the Peeping Tom category. By the by, Rudy just added Holds to the 2013 fantasy baseball projections. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Well, if you’re reading this it means one of two things. You are still alive in the playoffs or you’re just bored and addicted to this site. There is no wrong answer here. So take a gander at this week’s lower end lesser owned two start options. Please, blog, may I have some more?
As always on Saturdays we come to you live and direct with some of the lesser owned two start chaps that may be wandering your waiver wire like a lost kid at the Walgreens. This week has some tasty options of the buy low variety, and 2 guys that are especially hot and pitching stupid. Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s getting close, can you smell it? The payoffs, not the playoffs, but the payoffs. The reason you pay attention from basically the beginning of February thru September. That’s almost as long as people stay married to professional sports athletes. So with the payoffs and the dollar signs (or banners for you non-money league participants) being near, staying ahead of the game to secure your seed or to gain the last few points are is crucial. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Let’s just skip the intro all together. You’re scanning this anyways, let’s be honest. I could put the deepest, darkest secrets of life and all its mystery in this first paragraph and you’re still going to skip it. It’s cool… no hard feelings. Please, blog, may I have some more?
As a rule of thumb, I figure the best way to fully concentrate on writing these articles is to put on a god-awful dance movie in the background. Unless you secretly like those movies and then I have to ask, what are you doing here? Please, blog, may I have some more?
Another week closer to the end. Well my friends, it is getting to be that time, crunch time. I wish they sold some kind of crunch machine for this time of the year, as every start becomes more important than the last. Please, blog, may I have some more?
So my weekly piece comes on the heels of the awesomely fantastic Stream-o-nator, which was dropped by the other fellas that run this piece. It is a great little widget for fantasy baseball and a great stocking stuffer for the kids come Festivus. Please, blog, may I have some more?
This week could end up being a jumbled up mess with the trade deadline, so that is my fair warning salvo. With only a handful of weeks remaining, it is getting to be put up or shut up — or fantasy football prep. Please, blog, may I have some more?
