It’s halfway through the season so it’s time to share how well (or poorly) we’re doing in our various fantasy baseball expert leagues.  Rather than rehash good/bad draft picks (you can see that in our last update), I’ve just noted what place we’re in, who’s in 1st/last, a twittersque summary of how each team is doing, and then, to show we’re good sports, some praise (and unintentional jinxing) to the current 1st place teams. Welcome to the 1st annual Razzball All-Star squads!  These squads disregard any selections made by fans, Tony LaRussa, and Ron Washington as their focus is skewed towards a player’s value to their actual employer vs. potential 2012 fantasy baseball teams.

We’ve got four All-Star squads – all leveraging the $ estimates in our Player Rater.   Please, blog, may I have some more?

For the ‘season to date’ Fantasy Baseball Player Rater (everything except the ‘Last 7 day’ and ‘Last 20 day’), I’ve made a methodology change that improves the Point Share accuracy of AVG, ERA, and WHIP.

As some of you may know, creating Point Shares requires that I create a ‘rostered universe’ for each league format – e.g., I think these 18 2nd basemen would be rostered in a 12-team mixed league.   Please, blog, may I have some more?

The answer to the pregunta, “Que es CarGo?” no longer requires an obligatory snail reference as he ended his 15 game homerless streak to start 2012 with 2 HRs against the Pirates, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs. He’s never going to hit .336 again like he did in 2010 (doubt he’ll ever hit .300 with his K-rate) but he is one of the few players that has legitimate 30 HR/20 SB potential. With great pride and bland post titling, I’d like to announce a Beta release of our fantasy baseball in-season player rater as well as two charts that highlight the differences between pitcher FIP vs. ERA and batter BABIP vs. AVG.

The player rater work is an adaptation of the Point Shares methodology I’ve used the last couple of years for pre-season and post-season player estimates.   Please, blog, may I have some more?
