Given Reyes’ draft position and SB/R potential, I think just him for Lincecum/Escobar is a questionable deal – let alone with Wood. If he wants Wood, I think you need a 3rd player back or you swap two players and get an upgrade (e.g., Mauer for Soto).

Ok so the guy who offered me the Saunders for Wood deal offered me up another and it was funny cause he wants Reyes which you said to try and trade. He offere me Yunel Escobar and Tim Lincecum for Reyes and Wood. Thoughts?

You’re #11 in HR? I suppose your guys are starting off slow in HRs but I’m not worried about hitting w/ this squad.

You could use better starters but you don’t have much depth to trade from. I’d consider trading Reyes for Webb or Santana or Hart for guys like Hamels, Haren, or Lackey. Figure you can either get their SS back in the trade and give them JoBro or Longoria or you’ll find a SS on waivers (should be plenty if no MI). Basically, I think Reyes and Hart were overrated at draft time so still might command more than their worth…

Thanks for the great info and response speed faster than ichiro out of the box. Anyways, if you were me in this league, with the following lineup, would you try to make a move to address a weakness (most obvious I think is SP) and what weaknesses do you see?

NA – Rich Hill & Liriano

My worst categories compared to the rest of the league totals have been: Runs (Ranked 8/12), HR (11/12), K (10/12), and WHIP (10/12). Standard 5×5 scoring.

Closers are a fixed (albeit somewhat disposable) commodity whereas mediocre starters aren’t. Saunders is projected as a low K pitcher with around 5.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. His 3.6 K/9 IP and 1.6 K/BB ratios are AWFUL. The only real change from his performance last year is that he’s getting lucky with balls that are in play – it’s .240 instead of an expected .300.

I’d rather take a pitcher off the waiver wire and hold onto Wood. That, or get a better starter like Wainwright (despite his recent troubles) or someone with better potential like Snell.

Someone offered me Joe Saunders for Kerry Wood. My SP are…Billingsley, Maine, Carmona, Scherzer, and then Liriano & Rich Hill. My RP are…Papelbon, Wood, BJ Ryan, Fuentes, and Borowski. I have a lot of closers and lead my H2H league in saves but my SP is thin to say the least right now. This is a 12 team league. What do you think of Saunders and the deal.

I’m in an extremely shallow league (8 teams), so starting pitching is fairly abundant. Someone just offered me Sabathia and Victor Martinez for Kerry Wood and Brian McCann. I’m pretty happy with both McCann and Wood, but Martinez seems like an upgrade over McCann and Sabathia for Wood seems like a great deal. What do you guys think?

I have a trade offer in a head to head points league… Aramis Ramirez for Brandon Lyon and Adam Wainwright although I think i would rather have Brett Myers instead of Wainwright. I have Joe Crede and Alex Gordon that I could platoon at 3rd base… My pitching staff is Brandon Webb, Micah Owings, Ben Sheets, Darrell Rasner, Jair Jurgens, Gil Meche, Chris Young, Vicente Padilla.. My relievers are Capps, Mo Rivera and Jon Rauch… Starting lineup is 4 starters and 2 relievers…
What do you guys think?

As part of trade negotiations involving a handful of players, i was offered Utley for Rollins. I don’t exactly get why that was offered (neither was part of the mix prior) and to me at least, they are almost equal in value, am I wrong? Should I prefer Utley over Rollins?

Before I go one of my leaguemates who like to add/drop based on two starts let go of Pettitte. My starters and closers are: Beckett, Bedard, Hudson, Shields, Cueto, Harden, Papelbon, Ryan, and Rauch. Put in a claim? Who would drop? Based on my plan of building I don’t think I shoudl drop but an arm like Pettitte and a team like the Yanks shouldn’t be tossed aside.

OK what kind of packaging would you put together to upgrade the outfield? As to his team sucking more than mine you’re right – he is 1 and 5 and I’m 6-0. I’ll give you credit for some of those wins. Especially the one in which the guy predicted my team lossing for the whole league to see and he had to pass out the congrats before Sunday even finished.
My active outfield is Quentin, Vlad, Pence and Votto is now my utility player. Damon, Wells, Kemp, and Figgins are sitting on the bench.

My infield is Morneau/Votto, Kinsler, Greene, and ARam/Figgins. Someone wants to move Carlos Guillen for a one to one player trade. What do you think?
