Runway sucks… these judges are ruining my show. They have no cohesive and certain opinions. I can’t tell which designs they like/dislike or, more importantly, why! I swear, one of the past two weeks (no spoiler) Mizrahi says something to the effect of, “As soon as I saw your piece I hated it, but it’s obviously fantastic.”

Coles is such a nothing. She is totally rushed and is obviously afraid to give any strong advice that might not be echoed by the judges. As EiC of a major mag, she has credibility to lose. Gunn has never had a problem telling a voted off contestant, “I don’t see what the judges are talking about. I thought you did a great job.”

The worst part is how contrived the cast list is. Again, no spoilers… it has been painfully obvious that there is a group who is there to be voted off, a group that is there to contend, and a few people who are there to surprise or disappoint. It’s playing out according to script, and that feels totally non-Runway more than anything else.

I think the producers should have told Sarah the truth, “We would have brought in another partner, but we just watched the footage where you’re talking about getting all the troublemakers out of the house. You think our ratings come from good vibes and bad farts? GTFO!” Seriously, when Leroy (yes, I love him too) lost his partner last Challenge, which was about playing with your arch enemy, they brought in his BEST FRIEND as a replacement, so obviously the replacement doesn’t need to make sense. There was just no need to keep around the good-two-shoes without her fat, drunk, mongo mistake.

Didn’t you kind of feel bad for Naomi at the end? I was just shaking my head and talking to my TV, “Sweetie… let it go. You have no idea how desperate and sad you look right now. You’re trying to talk a man into hooking up with you, and he’s telling you repeatedly that he doesn’t want to.”

for example, you like MadBum more than most, but if you have him ranked as the 10th best pitcher, you obviously don’t want to reach for him during the draft, and you know you can wait a round or two before other people might draft him.

am i making sense here? i want to walk into a draft with my rankings, but also have a firm idea of where other people will be drafting too…

I got to know (and admire) Johnny U – figuratively of course – after reading ‘The Best Game Ever’ by Mark Bowden, which I cannot recommend highly enough. On the subject of the Baltimore Colts, you should also watch the ESPN 30 for 30 film ‘The Band That Wouldn’t Die’. Great stuff.
