@Grey: With dlR coming back tomorrow off the DL, I do own him and am left with a problem as to what to do with him. His K rate, if healthy, is obviously great, but he would have to needless to say prove he is mostly back to people before they start him. In his absence, I had replaced him with the DL space given me with Pelfrey then C. Richard… my other pitchers are Halladay, Kershaw, J. Sanchez, Marmol and Valverde…but now if I want to keep dlR am going to have to drop either a pitcher or an offensive player. Neither sounds enticing.

I don’t want to miss out if it looks like dlR (aside from getting roughed up his last start in AAA) if he comes back throwing fire, but I know the moment I drop someone like Richard or Sanchez that they are obviously gone as soon as they clear waivers. Is he worth keeping, dropping another piece for?

V-Mart (on the bench), C. Pena, Cano, McGehee, Tulo (on the DL)/Furcal (as replacement), McGehee, Holliday, T. Hunter, Grandy, Hart, Heyward (on the bench) and G. Sanchez fill out my offense right now until guys like V-Mart and hopefully Heyward come back well enough and soon. What should I do with dlR?

Thanks, Grey

@brad: lebron hasn't been hyped since he was 16 to go be scottie pippen. he's supposed to be trying to be jordan. he's selling his legacy/legend/career short if he signs with another superstar's team in order to chase a ring, when he has plenty of time to get a ring being the man for a good team. he could win 4 or 5 rings with d wade and bosh, but there would always be the caveat that he had to go to d wade's team so that d wade would be the man in crunch time.

nash hasn't won a title. hakeem probably wouldn't have won a title without jordan retiring for 2 years to try to play baseball.

as a sports fan, it's pretty rare i wanna see a guy NOT live up to his hype. same reason i didn't get a few people on here hoping strasburg didn't pan out. do you not enjoy greatness?

Any Ranger fans here know what's going on with Borbon? Last year he stole 19 in 46 games while only getting caught 4 times. HOwever, this year only 8 SB to 6 CS. Is he getting bad jumps, being told to not run, slight injured?

I think a Jennings call up is contingent on an Upton deal. With his lack of hustle and his blowing up on "the franchise" last week, I have a feeling B.J.'s time in Tampa is short, so I'm watching that situation closely. I like the Jennings/Borbon comparison btw.

@ThePoonTycoon: That's part of the reason why I targeted Lester. The guy is in 6th and 28 games out of 1st, but he's a tad bit delusional and still thinks he could make a run...which I suppose he could, but it's a long shot. He also has Price, which I've debated on testing the waters on. He said he would possibly deal him.

I'm not a HUGE fan of Liriano and don't quite trust him just yet.

I like CC, and have debated on doing that, but I doubt it would work. For one, my Dad has CC and is in 4th (5 games out), plus he's a HUGE Yankees fan, so he likes having them on his roster. I do happen to know that he likes Utley, however (made me a Cain/Scherzer/Bay for Utley/Capps offer earlier in the week). He also has Kershaw.

The guy with Haren, also has King Felix, and is in 1st (I'm in 2nd 1 game out). He's the only other Razzball reader (that I know of) and he already said he wouldn't trade with me because he doesn't want to think he helped me out in any way. Plus he's made it widely known that he has an obscure man-crush on Haren.

Or that the pitcher's energy level peaks during the day? Seems like if it plays out over the course of several seasons there could be something to it (the split seems to be widening for Bannister over time). Grey's right, though, I'm still not going to start him against Chicago. But it might be something to keep in mind for starts against more marginal teams.

GrandSlamSingle: thanks for pointing out Hamel's splits. I actually have him on my roster, as opposed to Brannister, who I'd have to stream. I'll keep those splits in mind when he's facing a tough team.

Anyone else know about any very extreme day/night or home/away splits for pitchers?
