Grey - Just a little nitpick here. Do you know what a cliche it is to say or write something along the lines "this doesn't really change anything about pitcher X even though he just threw a no-hitter"? You're better than that, man.

Grey - why are you so high on Jay Bruce in your top 100? Your projections are much more bullish than Zips' relatively pessimistic outlook. I got offered Bruce for CJ Wilson and Leo Nunez. I think I will take it, but I fear a yawnstipating 2 months of Bruce ownership. Give me a reason to get excited!

@Grey: What are your short-term expectations (this year) and long-term expectations (his ceiling) for Logan Morrison?

Thanks in advance.

@XNadyMen: I'd go Padilla based on K potential. They've both been pitching well lately though.

Of course now that I've said that, he'll probably get shelled. Padilla's burned me too many times to count.

@Grey: It is a keeper league. I kept Ramirez 2 years ago and he is under my control through next season. Last year I drafted Jeter and kept him for a year, so he currently occupies my MI slot. This year, I had the 3rd overall pick and to my joyous surprise Jose Reyes was there for the taking, so I took him and plan to keep him for 4 more years. So, to recap, I have Jose Reyes, Alexei Ramirez and Derek Jeter and only 2 spots for them. I clearly could play 1 of them at Utility but I need a run producer in that slot and none of the 3 fit that bill.

As an aside, because this is a keeper league, the teams that are in contention in a year tend to amass some pretty phenomenal lineups. My current lineup is:

C: Joe Mauer (kept through 2013)
1B: Mark Teixeira (kept through 2010...acquired 6 weeks ago)
2B: Aaron Hill (kept through 2011)
SS: Jose Reyes (will be kept through 2014)
3B: Kevin Youkilis (kept through 2010)
CI: Adam Dunn (kept through 2010...acquired in an offseason trade)
MI: Derek Jeter (kept through 2010)
OF: Matt Holliday (kept through 2010...acquired in 4 weeks ago)
OF: Alex Rios (kept through 2011)
OF: Carlos Quentin (kept through 2012)
OF: Mike Stanton (likely to be kept through 2013)
Util: Aubrey Huff
Bench: Jose Tabata (could be kept)
Bench: Alexei Ramirez (kept through 2011)
Bench: Yadier Molina
DL: Chase Utley (kept through 2010...acquired 6 weeks ago)

SP: Adam Wainwright (kept through 2012)
SP: Clayton Kershaw (kept through 2010)
RP: Rafael Soriano
RP: Carlos Marmol (will likely be kept through either 2011 or 2012)
P: Yovani Gallardo (kept through 2010...acquired 6 weeks ago)
P: Cole Hamels (will likely be kept through either 2011 or 2012)
P: Bobby Jenks
P: Francisco Cordero
P: Kevin Gregg
Bench: Gavin Floyd (could be kept)
Bench: Chris Carpenter (could be kept)

Hi Grey -- I'm assuming that in a 20-team roto league Weaver (vs. BOS), Hamels (vs. ARI), and Volquez (@MIL) are all starts, right? Or does Volquez's bad performance last time out make it best to bench him?

I'm way behind on innings, but the only counting stat I need in pitching is the W.

No question Rollins is showing age!! Complete disappointment this year.

Questionable decisions with Hammel pitching. He strikes out Rollins with runners on 2nd/3rd for the 2nd out. Then he faces Polanco who bats .315+.... gives up a hit to score a run and is pulled before facing Old Man Ibanez and his .255 BA. Of course Flores gave up Hammel's run. Not a great outing but definitely short-changed on the 1$.

Hey Grey, first time commenter here.

In need of advice. I'm in a dynasty league, keep full rosters forever, no salaries. I'm looking to improve my pitching. Right now I have three offers.

I can trade Matt Kemp for either Haren, Verlander, or Latos.

Help?

I can trade Matt Kemp for either Haren, Verlander, or Latos.

Help?

My buddy got a trade offer and he asked for my opinion on it. I figured I would just go to the master and see what he says.

My friends gets:
Posey
Granderson
Delmon Young
Volquez

My friend gives:
Braun
Haren
Wieters

Should he do it?

Hey Grey,

Thoughts on Adam Lind's power outage compared to 2009? Bet on a bounce back 2011? I might be able to get him in my mixed keeper league and wanted to know if he is worth a keeper slot. You get 9 slots per team and its an 11 team league.

Thanks,

Spartacus.

@Wilsonian: He should be owned, but Becks is tough to drop for him.

@Grey: Seriously right? I had some Japanese FMW tapes where he gave interviews while calmly sat getting stitches. I can't believe he's still at it all these years. I would totally buy one of his forks.

@Wilsonian: It's a shame but yeah pretty much everyone on the FLA coasts are from NY - half my family lives down there. It's god's waiting room. When the Mets play the Fish, it sounds like a home game. Same for Rays vs. Yanks.

@Frank Rizzo: not a rays fan. grew up without a local team. watched a lot of braves and cubs on tv (wgn and tbs) so always cheered for them. more of just a baseball fan though, and the rays are a fun team to watch, and they are fun to cheer for trying to knock off the 2 biggest teams in baseball within their own division.

@Tony: yeah, that's kind of what I figured about any team in FLA. No one is actually FROM FLA. I would still go to just check out the product on the field. If I was that close to a team like that, I'd hit it up all the time. I might not go to as many Marlins games just because I'm not a huge fan of sitting happy ass in the 100 degree Miami weather. Maybe once they get the retractable roof stadium. I agree with you about even if Crawford goes. They got Longo for free basically.

@Grey: point duly noted. The scab is staying put. Would you drop Becks in a 16 Team H2H Keeper for Logan Morrison? Becks is riding my pine, and I already have Dom Brown on the bench as well. But Morrison will have 1B/OF eligibility once he plays a few games in place of the Curly Coghlan.

@Grey: Thanks Grey. Would you start Volquez against Gallardo or Niese against Wainwright? I could use the K's but obviously worried about possible ERA/WHIP blowups.
