Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

Psst!  This post is gonna list 2nd basemen that you should target in your 2013 fantasy baseball drafts.  I’m whispering because you don’t want everyone to see this post.  No, I can’t whisper louder.  Then it WOULDN’T BE WHISPERING!  Okay, gig’s up (or maybe that’s jig’s up), the love I’m about to reiterately (Made Up Word of the Day!) confirm are guys I love later in drafts.  Am I drafting any of these guys in the first 10 rounds?  Probably not (except for Josh Rutledge — hello, beautiful! Come here, let Grey massage your balls…The balls of your feet, silly!).  These are players that you’re looking at later and all of them have ADPs after 150.  Some could be the 2nd baseman on your team, they are more than likely MIs.  MI, a name I give my middle infielder.  This is a (legal-in-all-countries-except-Spanish-speaking-ones) supplement to the top 20 2nd basemen for 2013 fantasy baseball.  Click on the player’s name where applicable to read more and see their 2013 projections.  Anyway, here’s some 2nd basemen to target for 2013 fantasy baseball:

Josh Rutledge – (Yahoo ADP 184; MDC 227; ESPN 248)  Hmm, where did I hear his name before?  Oh, I know!  I have his name written above where my back meets my crack.  Yo, that shizz ain’t whack.  Smack…that pitch up!  Sorry, in my mind, I was suddenly wearing a dookie phat gold chain and shell-toe Adidas. (Why did I just spell out Adidas by saying in my head, “All day I dream about sex?”  Because I’m awesome!  And so is Rutledge.)

Dan Uggla – (MDC 204; ESPN 171) Did you know Dan Uggla’s middle name is “Staple it together and call it bad weather?”  Let’s see if we can learn anything from his median name besides he’s a Jack Johnson fan (and maybe I shouldn’t have used the thesaurus for middle.)  His average is falling like a rock in a liquid of little viscosity.  His power doesn’t seem to be there as it once was.  He’s gotten old, frankly, and don’t call me Frank Lee.  I projected him for 82/26/88/.227/3.  At an ADP of ~200, there’s a decent chance for a .245 hitter with 30 homers, which is really close to my projections and completely doable/usable.  I’m not reaching for Uggla, but I’d take the flyer at 200-ish.  BTW, ~ is a freakin’ mustache and is the best punctuation in the world.  Eff you, interrobang lovers?!

Emilio Bonifacio – (MDC 249; Yahoo 269; ESPN 246)  I’m pretty surprised by how far down Bonifacio is in drafts.  Let me just try to understand this, everyone is totally convinced Melky Cabrera is going to be fine returning from suspension, and is locked into the two-hole of the Blue Jays lineup?  Bonifacio is no guarantee, but he stole 30 bases in 64 games last year.  So I’m not going to prorate that to 110 steals in 160 games, but there’s no reason why he’s getting drafted on average after the 200 slot.  Who would you rather have at MI, Erick Aybar, who’s being drafted in the 120’s, or Bonifacio?  And, just like that, I give you Good Face.

Jedd Gyorko – (MDC 265; Yahoo 337) Listen, Gyorko!  Oh, man, that never gets old.  Listen, Gyorko!  It’s still fresh!  Listen, Gyorko!  Okay, it’s old now.  Oh, well.  Few notes on Jerko, he may not make the Padres team out of the spring.  Even if he does, he’s going be playing in Petco.  I love him as a late flyer in leagues where you actually can draft him (which isn’t many because I don’t think he’s even in the Yahoo player universe).  I could see taking a flyer on him as an MI in all mixed leagues, then if he doesn’t pan out you just drop him and pick up someone like Cozart, who will be on waivers in most mixed leagues anyway.

Gordon Beckham – (ESPN 259; Yahoo 338; MDC 338) I will bet you a large amount of money that you won’t be able to collect from me that Beckham is available in every draft you do for next to nothing.  He’s an afterthought at this point.  No one wants him.  He just came off a season when he had his lowest strikeout percentage (15.3, which is very respectable) and had his highest home run output (16), while chucking in 5 steals.  That doesn’t sound terrible for a last round of a draft.  What if I told you he’s only 26 years old?  You’re suddenly wondering why no one is talking about him.  Well, he hit .234.  That’s hideous, but he was also very unlucky.  When correcting for luck, he should’ve hit .264.  If he were to take a step forward and hit 18 homers and .265, you can do a lot worse with your last pick for the MI slot.  Also, if he starts hitting for a better average, there’s no reason why he can’t take over the two hole from Crappinger.  Looking for a post-hype sleeper?  Here ya go.

Dustin Ackley – (ESPN 265; Yahoo 204)  Up front, I’ll be honest, I forced myself to find positive things for Ackley.  A) He’s hitting leadoff.  Yes, I’m overlooking who he’s hitting leadoff for.  B) He always had decent BABIPs in the minors.  By that standard, he was very unlucky last year.  Potentially a difference of fifty points on his average.  C) There’s no C.  D) He has some pop and speed.  15/15 wouldn’t shock me.  Looking for a guy that could be this year’s Kipnis?  Here he is.  E) Wait, was that last one really all for D?  It felt like two points.  F) The Mariners will play Ackley this year no matter what becomes of Nick Franklin and Stefan Romero. G) One of our writers, Jaywrong, projected Ackley for 97/17/68/.286/19.  That would give him top five 2nd baseman value.  H) ello.

Gyorko’s #337 on the Yahoo rankings, but 3B only.

How about Matt Carpenter (#806 at yahoo, #313 at MDC), assuming he actually wins the StL 2B job?

@Czernobog: I think he’s listing the ADP not the rankings. Gyorko is ADP 246.

One factor working against Boneface is lack of 2B in 20-game-minimum leagues.

Could reward an owner with multiple positions by midseason, but he’d have to stay in my OF for a while.

How much do you value a “possibly future 2B” on draft day?

    • Paddyman says:
      (link)

@Jack Full of Hate: I really can’t believe anyone could have the slightest consideration for drafting that guy and I’m a sox fan! He’s too much of a headcase. Why not reach a tier higher and if he starts decent he always be available on the wire. He’s worth sticking on a watchlist. I’d rather spin the wheel on Bonifacio or Jerko. Jerko’s gotta have a great chance to win that 2b job. Forsythe’s only a utility guy. I also think Utley’s a guy who won’t kill your fantasy hopes and should be available come rounds 13-15. BTW Grey- Does this mean your punting 2B just like catcher? I think it’d be interesting to rank catchers and 2b in one list for draft day. What rounds do you see yourself drafting 2B?

      • Jack Full of Hate says:
        (link)

@Paddyman: I draft my MI in the 20th round and on, to take one in the 13-15 means I would have drafted a 2B by the 10th and thats just crazy talk, too much talent to pass on. Beckham might suck but he has the potential to not suck as bad as other guys who may not suck. Being a sox fans probably makes you jaded, i would be. Jerko is a favorite on razzball, but if he has no job come opening day then he has no place on my team. Dude plays in San Diego and doesn’t pitch so I’m not interested.

    Hi there,

Just wanted to be entitled for a minute and ask you about my own situation.

6×6 roto using SLG, QS, and OBP instead of AVG. Budget’s $225. Our lineups employ 4 OF, 2 UTIL, and 9 P slots. Innings limit is 1700.

I can keep six players at most. My possibilities:

    Votto @ $25
    Zobrist @ $16
    Miguel Cabrera @ 25
    Stanton @ $25
    Papi @ $10
    Rizzo @ $10
    Dickey @ $10
    Profar @ $10
    Wil Myers @ $10

As of now, my strategy is to keep for value. Therefore, I’m certainly keeping Votto, Cabrera, and Stanton. I’m also leaning toward keeping Rizzo and Dickey. Thoughts? Should I ditch Dickey? Keep Zobrist regardless? Hold off on Rizzo and just wait for Ike and Hosmer?

Regardless, my primary goal in the draft is to obtain five speedy guys with decent OBP and SLG. BJ Upton looks like a good fit, Aoki, Segura, Eaton, a few others in mind. Hosmer would be a nice play at UTIL, too.

Pitching should be relatively easy to pilfer through knowing my league so I won’t bother you there, except for advice on keeping Dickey at $10.

Thanks for all your help, both in response and in general. The pockets of unique insight put this place head and shoulders above the rest.

    Hey Grey,

Looking for some draft strategy pointers for my 7×7 15 team league.

I pick last and also have no 2nd and 3rd picks. My 7 keepers are:
    1B Pujols
    2B Kinsler
    CF Kemp
    RF Bruce
    Util Rizzo
    SP Dickey
    SP Medlen

Should I go best available 3B/LF to start? Per your rankings Aramis is the best available 3B and Gordon at LF, Rollins at SS, Rosario at C. Best available SP is Scherzer but can’t see him falling to me. (next are Latos/Shields/Peavy/Cueto)

How would you go 1st, 4th and 5th rounds? Thanks!

    • Grey

      Grey says:

Guys, I need help! How stupid was it to trade McCutchen for Ellsbury, Medlen, Dickey and Rios? I just did the trade last night. 5X5. Roto. 10-team, competitive, keeper league with no restrictions, aside from the fact we can only keep 15 players. We start 6 SPs and 3 RPs. Here is my roster (w/o closers):

Napoli, E5, Kinsler, Machado, Zobrist (SS), Hill, Ike Davis, Bryce Harper, B.J. Upton, Ellsbury, Rios, Chris Davis, Goldschmidt, Eaton, Bumgarner, Latos, Zimmermann, Dickey, Medlen, Lynn and Fister.

    • Wilsonian says:
      (link)

@Joe: you just got railroaded. A bunch of stuff for easily the best player of the bunch. If you really needed all those guys, I guess I could see it. But I’d rather have Dread and some guys off waivers than all that.

      • Joe says:
        (link)

        @Wilsonian:

Thanks for your honesty! Isn’t it feasible Ellsbury performs as well as McCutchen and Medlen is an ace?!

        • Jay29 says:
          (link)

@Joe: Yeah I’d disagree with Wilsonian. I hate the current mindset with fantasy players/”experts” that you have to get the “best player” in the deal. Well, it still matters what the other group is (what if you have Miggy and I offer you, I dunno, Stanton, Pujols, Kershaw, and Longoria?) , and who else you have on your team. In my opinion, you’re getting two potential aces and an OF that’s only one step below Cutch. In a 10-team league, Rios might not be much, but I think it’s a good trade just for the 1st three guys.

          • Wilsonian says:
            (link)

@Jay29: I think trading Miggy for Stanton, Pujols, Kershaw and Longoria would be a a great trade. Those guys are all on the threshold of Miggy. Completely different scenario here. We have a top 5, if not better, talent given up for much lower quality guys. You have Ells who had one GREAT year and has been injured ever since. Is that great season the outlier or the norm? I don’t know, and I’m not willing to gamble on it. Dickey was great last year, but has been crap his whole career. I’d say last year was the anomaly…plus he just switched leagues. Medlen is a beast, but he’s still young and unproven. And Rios is Rios.

Your argument is comparing apples to kumquats. Completely different scenario. The “best player in the deal” means when you have given up the best talent by far. In the deal the OP did he gave up the best talent by a long shot for a ton of question marks. In a dynasty keeper I don’t like it.

            • joet says:
              (link)

Wilsonian, what are you talking about?

The McCutchen side got rolled bigtime in that trade.

        • Wilsonian says:
          (link)

@Joe: it’s feasible, but I don’t see Dickey doing what he did last year nor do I see Rios doing the same. I see Dread as a top-3 player for years to come. I don’t see any of the guys you got in return as that good. Put it this way, even in a 15 player keeper, I would give you those 4 guys for Dread every day of the year. Not trying to be mean. It could work out, but I would need another Stanton-like guy for Dread.

          • Sean says:
            (link)

@Wilsonian: I think Dread’s power last year might have been an outlier and his true talent is low-to-mid 20s homers.

        • Jack Full of Hate says:
          (link)

@Joe: not feasible, but ells could surprise some people this year. I would put a little hope that his pending contract, the big one. Or he may be like Quinton who put together an MVP type season once to never come close again.

          • Joe says:
            (link)

@Jack Full of Hate: Thanks for the multiple perspectives, guys. I guess this is the beauty of the game. Hopefully the results swing in my favor. I figured I had enough youth and production that this trade would take me over the line to a victory while still leaving me with some pieces for the future.

    Hi guys,

I need help! I have first pick in a 10 team roto draft (straight draft for the first 3 rounds, not snaking). Who should I pick first? Braun or Cabrera (Trout is taken- its a keeper league)? Who should I pick 2nd? 3rd? I’m leaning towards Cabrera for the first pick b/c all the 3rd basemen seem to be injury risks. I’m leaning towards a second basemen or SS for the second round due to scarcity.

    Your input is much appreciated!

@milton: Miggy vs Braun is a tossup.

Don’t go SS or 2B at 11th overall, unless Cano is inexplicably still there. Beef up your lineup with an OF, 1B, or 3B — check out Grey’s 1st/2nd round pairings post to help you choose the right one.

Seems that 2B and SS have equal depth this year. I mean, you have Pennington ranked at about the same for each (30 and 31). I’m not sure what to do with that info. I guess it means that one shouldn’t be concerned about a run on one or the other…if that Cano rumor is true, it would also mean that there will be potentially less difference between the top and middle ranked 2B…not sure what to do with that either…what an interesting comment, you’re not going to say…

      (link)

@royce!: If Cano info is true, which i hope it is, then it might make people reach a little more for the top 2B and hence open up a better pick for me. The highly over-rated pitchers are creating that too.

  15. Mr. Gray: Good Job and fair job…

Beckham was not drafted in my one Yahoo ….. He is a Plug On – Plug Offer in Yahoo it seems…

I took Ackley in about 20th … Touts are so hard on him.. He is what 24 YO?? He could be a massive breakout guy… Low risk – high reward IMO… I could see him at 270 – 16 – 65 – 90 – 17 like you… That said, I’m currently cutting him and picking up more closer candidates for now… I will be 2ND baseless… Perhaps, for the first week of the season until things get sorted out in that league and MLB… PIPO

The Ruttman lasted until about 16th if I remember … When, I was busy adding the Brandon Leagues and the like to my roster and bench.. He is too sexy for me this year… I will not own’ him… The touts have made him untouchable IMO… Better deals out there for your team when you must slot him this year IMO… I saw him go in the 12th in ESPN… Jaw dropping-ly ugly given who else was sitting there IMO

Gyorko went undrafted… He is listed at 3B only on Yahoo… Discovered that after the draft… And I needed some speed by then – which he is seemingly completely devoid of… So, I was not interested.. There is also a high risk of overall failure, being a BA nailer and lack of PT IMO…

Uggla is so scary with his BA.. But, the other numbers are magnetic… He does go late… I like him – if I’ve got some solid BA in front of him and haven’t taken a risk already on a corner man like Ike Davis whose risk of low BA??? combined with Uggla’s wipes out most hopes for BA success… Had too many BA by then to risk considering him at that draft… That is what usually happens… And he is almost always dropped during his slumps… SO he will be available later…

Boni is sitting there in my Yahoo League… Full Time job is still in question IMO.. Plug On – Plug Off… He may suit my needs the best of the 2ND Basers in reflection – Really too weak in speed on this team.. His spot in the BO is going to be bad though… His BA is scary too

Kelly Johnson was not mentioned here… He has in the past had great Aprils and Mays until reality strikes him and he fades in the summer… He is a great plug on plug off player… Ryan Roberts and S Rod may hurt his ABs this season though.. on my watch list … He may DH though … TB is a scary place right now… Like the A’s … Too many interchangeable options – the new wave of the future for MLB as real world Plug In-Plug Off hits the big time… Where inexpensive players with holes are matched with players with different holes to make a complete players for the lineups and team budgets..

General Note on Yahoo Draft Board… Big Pitchers are going a lot faster there…And they are up top too…. I was shocked by the rate of selection of SPs… Yahoo with its inning pitched limit drives the SP value upwards IMO… Yahoo Veteran Players know this… The toutdoms average top 25 SP were gone by the end 6th round… It was into the mid 40s of SPing by the end of the 10th…

SP wins in Yahoo!!!… I know my Great One, we diverge here…

Also, the fewer hitters allowed makes PLUGGING for the 162 limit the strong play there… Many good teams turn in < 140 games at too many positions because they are sitting on too many can't-drop-that-guy types..

If they run an all offence bench to offset this – they are hurt on the pitching side badly.. Proven over and over… Multi position guys / 500+ ABs in Yahoo are super golden…

Are we back to our normal schedule now??…

    O' E s t r a d a!!!! was taken in the 14th or 15th round by T. Moore… Fiers was not selected … At least when I finished … He was still on my queue then…

Get rid of the hyperactive ESPN like rock music on the podcasts… It adds nothing… You guys have more to offer than that… It is mind numbing and playing to the lowest common denominator – So common… It really is noise polution when all is said and done…

@T Moore: Good last paragraph. I hit mute until the song is over. Annoying. If I had to give the song a dollar auction value, I’d put it at minus $35. (which in itself is funny, because my league does snake)

@T Moore: Excellent observation on the effects on draft strategy with respect to SP when drafting on Yahoo versus ESPN. It has taken me a very painful 2012 season to make the proper adjustments to Grey’s ranks and strategies when drafting on Yahoo. They are indeed ranked higher, drafted higher, and mathematicly more valuable than SPs are in a standard ESPN format. For those of us weaned on Razzball Shakes, it is a jarring revelation and difficult adjustment. It just doesn’t feel natural to be drafting an SP in round 4, but chances are, that’s exactly what you have to do in Yahoo drafts to start the year with a decent team. Thanks for the comment!

@T Moore: Re: Gyorko BA- He’s batted over .319 for his 3 years in the minors. Sure, he’s not gonna steal much but with the fences coming in a bit at Petco he certainly is one to monitor , especially when drafting for keeper leagues. Additional 3b eligibility is very nice as he will gain 2b with 5 starts in yahoo.

      • @Paddyman:

Paddy: Any rook is a high risk for failure… I did not mean to suggest, I was not interested in him or others should not be… You are right to have scolded me.. I should have included that.. Of the players up there, he may have the best year…

The big point was these all these guys (not including. Ruttman) were available late or still are in the Yahoo league I drafted in… And all of them have some questions attached… Even Ruttman IMO

The best year at a position with players like this is playing them in combination in the best situations… Play’m when they are hot – drop’m they are not… Because, Yahoo puddle is rich all year… Loaded with choices… 162 games played in every slot is the goal… Half the league will drop out by July creating a soft under belly in offensive #s… The puddle becomes your very own oyster then…

    Deal Dickey for Craig? Gordon?
Or just enter draft stacked in late round pitching and be almost done with them?

was offered Pedroia for A-Gon. We have 3 Util spots, but no CI or MI. These two are very close in Grey’s rankings. I think Adrian will rebound, but I am tempted make this trade with 2B so shallow. I know Goldy, Freeman, Rizzo,Davis will be available to draft if I want to try to replace A-Gon for that Util spot. Grey, nice first podcast, can’t wait for more. I love to adjust my rankings daily from all of the information and opinions I consume. You and your cohorts views carry a lot of weight. Keep up the great work!

Just contemplating some draft strategies. I would love to wait on Catcher this year (not too long), taking the 7th-10th catcher off the board sounds about right to me. However, if a Carlos Santana or Matt Weiters were to fall to around pick 80 would you pounce? I think either of them could lead the position this year.

    Grey,

I’m in a league that is outfield specific and has 2 Util slots. What are your thoughts on filling the Util up early? I’ve been prodding league members and it looks like I’ll be able to snag mccutch with the #6 pick in a 12 team league. Is it bad form to draft Jones in the 3rd and shove him in util? I’ve been toying with bautista in the 2nd round and then picking choo later. Would you fill all specific positions before the Util slots, or do you take the best player available when you can?

    Thanks

@Kid A: It’s not good to clog up UTIL that early…

  21. Grey, in the midst of a dynasty points league $$ draft right now, 19 teams, points are fairly standard….roster is standard (with RF/CF/LF separated, one utility and 6 bench) 5 SP, 5 RP, W’s/Sv’s/Hlds all register points, along with K’s and IP.

    Thus far our roster is…

    C –
    1B – Paul Goldschmidt
    2b – Dustin Ackley
    3B – Mike Moustakas
    SS – Josh Rutledge
    RF – Giancarlo Stanton
    CF – Adam Jones
    LF – Desmond Jennings
    Util –

    Pitchers….

    Dylan Bundy
    Jarrod Parker

Thoughts on the team as built thus far?…..and how would you rank these SP’s for Dynasty League drafts?

    Shelby Miller
    Trevor Bauer
    Tyler Skaggs
    Jose Fernandez
    Zach Wheeler
    Taijuan Walker
    Jameson Taillon
    Aaron Sanchez
    Dan Hultzen
    Julio Teheran
    Archie Bradley

….and if it’s at all feasible to tier them, it’d be even more greatly appreciated. We’ll dedicate our first Threepeat championship in 2018 to you and Razzball.

    • Just to add….we just selected Shelby Miller.

    Trumbo
    Howard
    I. Davis
    C. Davis
    LaRoche
Konerko (he walks almost as much as he K’s – how much does that help him with this group?)
    Dunn
    Alvarez

In my keeper league i have no 2nd baseman going into draft. we also don’t do MI we have standard spots plus 3 utility. I want either Weeks, Rutledge, Uggla, or Bonifacio. Based on your rankings you have no concern with only having Rutledge as every day 2 bag? .it’s either take weeks earlier and maybe rutledge/ bonifacio late or just take rutledge then gyorko real late. I love the upside but can i really only have rutledge a unproven guy as lone 2 bag

    • Grey

My hero: 2b blows this year, punting the position way up to the sky this year and grabbing someone real late, nice write-up…What are your thoughts when it comes to a Net Saves + Holds category in H2H? Am I the stupid one here or what? Punt saves guys and draft heavy holds as the formula is Saves plus Holds Minus Blown saves..Hmm…Why even risk the blown save?? Thanks for your wisdom and pass when u can. Peace!

    • Grey

@Grey: Maybe I’m looking into it too hard…How do they get a blown save in a hold situation? I know they can get a loss….are you saying they do get blown saves in general during the year (if there in a saves situation) just not that often right? Thanks for educating me.

        • Greyismyhero says:
          (link)

          @Greyismyhero: Nevermind I found it….

    Heya Grey,

League keeper deadline approaches and I’m in a pickle so I figured I’d find an Albright post haste.
H2H, ESPN points, keep 9 forever, pitching focused.
    For sure keeper dudes-
    1B Pujols
    SS S Castro
    3B D Wright
    OF McCutch
    OF Harper
    SP Strasburg
    SP C Lee
    SP Yu Darvish
Normally wouldn’t keep these many pitchers but Lee is projected for 665 pts while Pujols is projected for 545 pts to give you an idea of the enhanced value of pitchers (W/L count).

Picking my last guy is driving me bonkers!
    C/ 1B C Santana (404 proj. pts), 2B Profar (267), 2B Kipnis (391), SP Medlen (549), SP Samardija (490).

Leaning towards Santana as the drop after him and Posey is big, but Profar… is he redundant if I have Starlin already or is he worth keeping in hopes of ++ performance or good trade bait? We have 2 Util spots.
Medlen is also pretty attractive, love the low BB% guys, but the 85% LOB makes me real scurred for 13′. Then there’s the Shark, f_ck Grey I’m stumped.

    Hey Grey,

I have a keeper/draft question. I’m in a 12 team h2h keeper league and my team predraft is as follows:
    C: J. Montero
    1B: Votto
    2B: Altuve
    3B: Frazier
    SS: Hanley
    OF: Cargo, Granderson, Jennings
    Util: Marte

SP: Strasburg, Weaver, Morrow, Harvey, W. Davis, Hanson, Romero, Harvey, D. Hudson

I have been offered the 3rd pick in the draft for Harvey. For that pick, choo should be available, but Harvey is on a tag that makes him my 24th rd pick for the next 4 years (locked in, can’t get rid of it unless i trade him). Do I trade Harvey for that pick or is my offense good enough that I can keep harvey instead? I know you have Choo ranked extremely high, but do you trade that value of harvey for him?

14 team league H2H 10Cat…we are currently on pick #105 overall, I go at #108 (my 8th round pick)
Kimbrel is the only closer gone…

When is a good time to go for a closer? I feel like I would rather start a run on closers than be at the tail end of one…maybe I’m wrong?

When are picking your 1st closer? Would Papelbon still be your 2nd ranked closer behind Kimbrel?

    Thanks a ton

Grey- saw your Gyorko comments. I want to make a prospect joke where I use Gyorko “Jerko” and Jurickson “Jerk’s Son”. I’ve heard some commentators pronounce Profar’s first name with a hard “J” and some with a “Y” as in Yurickson, but for the purposes of the joke, assume it’s a hard “J”. I’m in a 6×6 roto league with OBP and Ks on offense, and Hits for pitching. Any help with creating the Jerko/Jerkson joke would be much appreciated.

20 team keeper. Keep forever. keep 5. Keeping votto, mccutch, bautista, lawrie. Pick my last 1

1st-3rd, lf, cf, rf, of and 1 util. No mi or ci, just 1 utility. Have lawrie @3rd already. Was planning on using one of my first two picks on a power hitter to slot in at util. Funnel manny in at 3rd and util when guys have off days.

Might not be smart for this year but would hate to toss him back and he explodes into a superstar.

Pick 1. Machado or scherzer or latos

Love machados upside. Hate to throw him back but have no SP on my squad yet.

So who would u go for at the draft? I cant play manny at util to start the season. I was looking at a util bat like a konerko or ike davis or someone in that range of power bat or go after some SP.

I got the 17th pick in the first round which is really the 6th rd. So i pretty much go back 2 back. Maybe scherzer or that range of SP might be there. Latos, medlen.

I am embarrassed to say this, but I still own a H2H points team in CBS. Thanks to Grey I have almost been soley converted over to roto leagues. That said I have a quandary about my keepers for this format. Typically SP tend to rack up a lot of points in the season, but the points can come in bunches some week and bare the next.
I am def keeping Longoria, Matt Moore, and Samardjiza.

My last vacant spot is between: Rios in Rnd 14, Brett Anderson in Rnd 24 or Ian Desmond in Rnd 24.
