He’s #11 on my list because of some defensive uncertainty, but certainly could’ve replaced either Pettibone or Valle. If he can hit for power more consistently in 2013, he’ll leap over quite a few guys here.

Where do you put Cody Asche in their farm system? Heard he has been progressing a lot recently and many believe he’ll have the opening day job in another year.

I like Asche a lot — there’s some concern about whether or not his glove will play at the big league level, but you have to be impressed with his year in 2012. He could’ve replaced either Pettibone or Valle on this list, but consider him #11 for now because of the defensive uncertainty. If he can hit for power a bit more consistently in 2013, he’d leap over quite a few guys here…

I’ll roll out the 2013 prospect ranks sometime in February, before drafts season is in full-force, but after most of the dust has settled on FA signings & the MLB depth charts are a bit clearer. Yeah, Brown would’ve been a helluva scoop, but I don’t think Philly will be disappointed with Joseph — upside of an all-star level catcher if development goes well.

Disappointed that the Phillies couldn’t get an outfield prospect in return for Hunter Pence, namely Gary Brown. Maybe they can swing a deal for Peter Bourjos this off-season.

There’s some upside in Perkins & he had a nice debut in the NYPL. But for now, he’s a fringy prospect & not very close to this top ten. His first taste of full-season ball next year will be telling. I’m rooting for him, though… gotta support my B1G guys.
