Point Shares: Inspired by Bill James' Win Shares (and unknowingly patterning somewhat off Alex Patton's Standings Gain Points), these represent the estimated difference in an average team's points if they were to substitute a given player for the average player at his position. For more information, see here.Projection Data Sources: ZiPs (Dan Szymborski), Steamer (Jared Cross)
Playing Time Sources:Fantistics , RotoChamp
Roster: Based on 12 team ESPN Roster format. Consider any $ estimates more directional for other formats.
Players Included: All players with projected playing time in 2012.
All / Pos: 'All' includes every position the player is eligible (20 games started). 'Pos' is the position that was used for their Point Share rankings and is the position where the player is judged most valuable. The order of most valuable to least valuable for positions is: C, SS, 2B, 3B, OF, 1B, DH.
154/106, 165/95, 180/80: Auction dollar estimates are split for hitters/pitchers. 154/106 assumes hitters and pitchers equally valued and reflects each player's true value. The rankings are ordered based on this. 165/95 and 180/80 reflect a greater $ bias towards hitters with 165/95 being my (Rudy's) preferred split in mixed league snake drafts (closer to 180/80 for AL/NL-only drafts).
Color Coding: Point Shares <> 1.5 are shaded Green (>) and Yellow (<). $ estimates <> $3 are shaded Green (>) and Yellow (<).
