Quick note: Since Romero was scratched a few days ago (and then Happ got an ouch so Romero started Saturday, anyway) Villanueva started today (Sunday) and isn’t a 2 start this week. I think the Padres are on a 6 man rotation, so Stults may only have one start.

@nick m., Nolasco, Villanueva, Cobb and Straily would be my top 4. Stults prolly gets shut out for the second start or I would pick him over Straily. Good luck

Trying to maximize 2-starters in second week of a 2-week H2H points playoff matchup (1 pt per out, -2 pts per ER), please pick rank the top three options for me:

Hector Santiago (vs. KC today, @ Min Fri)
Jarrod Parker (@LAA Mon, vs. Bal Sat)
Alex Cobb (@Bal Tue, @ NYY Sun)
Dan Straily (@LAA Tue, vs. Bal Sun)
Ricky Nolasco (@ Wash today, vs. Cin Fri/Sat)
Carlos Villanueva (@Bos today, vs. Bos Fri)

And two possible options that are maybe 2-starts, but it could be a risk if I’m looking for 2 starts (correct me if I’m wrong):

Eric Stults (vs. STL Mon, vs. COL sun maybe)
Patrick Corbin (@SD today, vs. SF Sun maybe)

I know this site is all about the jokes…but I don’t think joking about Brandon McCarthy is appropriate at the moment. What happened did not look “funny” in the slightest. It was quite horrible. I’m sure Erick Aybar, for one, would agree with me. Maybe when McCarthy’s life is out of danger, then there might be appropriate jokes. But I think that Buckwheat comment is disappointing to see on this website.

picked up kendrick (dropping detwiler) yesterday during my playoff bye. also re-signed michael young (after dropping him for h kendrick), allowing me some versatiliy with him and howie both having multiple position eligibility (which i need because kubel & victorino like to suck/sit often of late). thinking of dropping javier lopez for straily, but that spot could also be used to stream up to 5 SP (max moves next week). the guy i’ll likely play has 10 SP and 0 RP. I have Papelbon, Clippard, Romo & Lopez. Thoughts?

PS. the brewers are on fire and the cards can’t score any runs all of a sudden.
