Tim Hudson is likely to be out for at least the first month of play. This makes me happy because Minor will get at least a month of starts and they will be forced to start a prospect. As to the latter, got an educated guess as to who will get the call, Teheran or Delgado?

@Grey, Ells was definitely the man last season.

However, unlike standard AVG leagues where Stanton lags behind, with OBP Stanton has that edge.

My hesitation is that Ellsbury ended the season on fire while Stanton was pretty average. The fact that I could keep Stanton for as many seasons as I want is pretty appealing though.

@Grey, I usually don’t judge (or try to play) anyone’s game this early on. Reason being, there is so much going on and so many people to keep track of, there’s no way you could know where everyone stands. So big strategic moves are reliant on dumb luck and partial info at best. Smartest move is to just fly under the radar (if you can) until you get to a more manageable sized group (preferably post-merge).

@Grey, yeah, if i want a minor league pitcher, I can pick up Bauer, Cole, or Skaggs in our minor league draft. I’m not 100% sold on Goldie, but even at $20.. he’s better than those alternatives.

@SwaggerJackers, Ellsbury was probably way more valuable last year, but Stanton could be more valuable going forward. I don’t think it’s a terrible move to keep Stanton.

I have Goldie at $20.
I have an offer of LaHair $5, Thole $5, and Shelby Miller $5/2 years (with the option on Miller to still put a contract on him)

Looking at 1b, I guess Cuddyer and Loney will be available in the auction.. everyone else would be protected.
keep Goldie, right? LaHair is interesting.. but seems like a reach.

@Awesomus Maximus, I was thinking more about this (probably more than I should admit) and you’d have to play it twofold. Colton becomes Turd of the cool kids but he would have to endear himself enough to Troyzan and Tarzan’s posse to have them believe once he was gone, they were next. So he’s helping them too. Also, he could play the card to Troy/Tarzan that he would get them into a merged alliance with three girls and they could run the game down the line. So he’s necessary later on. This is probably more than slightly crazy talk.
