MLB 10 Team | MLB 12 Team | MLB 14 Team | MLB 16 Team | AL 8 Team | AL 10 Team | AL 12 Team | NL 8 Team | NL 10 Team | NL 12 Team

NOTES:
Point Shares - Inspired by Bill James' Win Shares, these represent the estimated difference in an average team's points if they were to substitute a given player for the average player at his position. For more information, see here.Roster: For mixed league, I am using C/1B/2B/SS/3B/5 OF/CI/MI/UTIL/9 P. For AL/NL-only, it's the same except 2 Catchers.

All Pos – All eligible positions for 2011. Based on 20 game eligibility. I have asterisked positions where a player does not have eligibility but should gain eligibility by the end of April.

Pos – This is the position that was used for their Point Share rankings. This is the position where the player is judged most valuable. The order of most valuable to least valuable for positions is: C, SS, 2B, 3B, OF, 1B, DH.

Our three sources for rate projections (e.g., HR per plate appearance) are:

Marcel - Marcel projections is a basic forecasting system developed by Tom Tango. It tends to do quite well when compared against other projection systems. To learn more on Marcel, click here.

FanGraphs - FanGraphs 'Fan Projections' are based on registered user submissions at FanGraphs - bringing 'crowdsourcing' to baseball projections. You can access their 2011 Fan Projections here.

ZiPs- ZiPS is a projection system written by Dan Szymborski to project performance in individual baseball players. Dan’s work can be found on Baseball Think Factory. The ZiPS stats can be downloaded for free on the site.

Our two sources for playing time estimates are:

Fantistics - The playing time estimates (AB and IP) are courtesy of Fantistics. In a 2009 test by Tom Tango's Insidethebook.com, their playing time estimates outperformed both Baseball Prospectus and fan projections. They also did beat most projections systems in Tango's 2010 Forecaster Challenge.
