I get 5 keepers in a 10 team 5×5 league. Current keepers are Cano, Fielder, Zimmerman, and CarGo. Who should my final keeper be?

It is becoming increasingly hard to make waves in the fantasy baseball world with your projections.

Yahoo and ESPN’s rankings are very aggressive and the “sexy picks” are usually a tad overrated while the “old balls” players like Berkman, Magglio, Abreu are the new “sleepers”.

I liked your original take that Howard, Gallardo, Heyward, on MDC they were all underrated, because they were… the ADP from MDC this winter has to be the worst projections I have seen; but the “perts” at the major providers that we all love to hate kind of have things pretty right this year… at least as far as the buzz guys go.

They sure are taking some of the fun out of it.

Ah yeah, sorry. Roto, 10 teams, 5 x 5 categories, but only 10 hitters (standard positions plus UTIL). This makes it so the hitters on the fringe of owned/FA, especially OF, are usually pretty ownable. It always seemed like Brad Hawpe was kinda the dividing line, bouncing between teams and waivers all season, but I’m not sure that applies anymore. What would your strategy be in this set up?

I’m the Commish in a Yahoo league and this is the first time we’ve done an online draft (used to do in person, but people are now in different states). I’ve already got the keepers in the draft and set it up in accordance with our final results from 2010. Does anyone know if there is a way to change the draft time? Meaning, how long people have to pick. I’m pretty sure it’s defaulted to 90 seconds, but it’s a smaller league and people want some additional time.

Any tips on general draft strategy be in a standard league thats very shallow & has no IP limit?

I was wondering, I’m in an AL Only 10 team 5×5 Keeper League and I have a Carmona conundrum.

Should I keep the groundball machine for $3 or the young gun Jeremy Hellickson for $15? Or ditch both, or some combo? I’m kinda leaning towards keeping Carmona and using the Hellickson savings to go after a Verlander type to anchor the rotation. What do you think kind sir?

usually i remain quiet when i see blog talkers barking up the wrong tree .
doesn’t make much sense to correct them to my way of thinking .

but , now that were fessin’ up ,
in one year leagues , i’m not touching a-gon or morneau , this year .
(though i will admit to rebuking all trade offers for my a-gon in my keeper league , last year , in hopes that he would be traded to the sawx .)

which brings me to this question ==> who gets off to a slower start this year (thru july 1st) …. a-gon or teix ?

@Schmohawks Bob: Davis — He’s not in the top 300, sorry. I thought he was towards the end of it. I’m not a fan, either way. I think he’s what he was last year, which is good in NL-Only leagues, but eh in mixed leagues. Young, Robot, Meek… I wouldn’t sub any though.
