Very helpful post. Andrus batting 9th really hurts his value. I agree with Grey that Byrd is a big Sleeper this year. He’ll be undervalued, and is a great pickup late in a draft or for $1 in an auction.

Anybody know a spot where you can get projected batting orders?

@Grey: Take that back right now... I own Beckham in almost EVERY league I'm in! I'd rather have Alexei take up running stairs with Barmes as a hobby than deal with Beckham stumbling. I think I'm just going to use this as my excuse to package him up with an SP I'm not crazy about owning (like Shields) and try to upgrade SS.

@Baron Von Vulturewins: You're right there Baron, but I'm in a shallow 10 team league and cheap steals can still be had on the wire if necessary. But I also own Figgins/Braun/Cruz in that league so I should be okay until Reyes comes back. If he's out an extended period of time, I could be in some trouble. An extremely cheap source of steals on Yahoo....Pierre. Yahoo hates Juan and has him 278th overall. I don't get that.

@Grey: Ha! I was just having that same conversation about Nick Johnson the other day with a Yanks buddy. "I'm not worried about Johnson being able to get on base, it's him being able to score on anything other than a homer, that I'm worried about." Until the Yanks face Detriot at home and the ball is hit to Damon, then he's fine, he could just jog(and I'm talking a Johnson Jog which is like Gardner hopping on one leg)

The O’s also signed Joey Gathright. Hopefully he’ll get to steal some ABs from Reimold before season’s end, as well. :-\

I suppose I should be more worried about the 2 leagues where I have Alexei Ramirez. Is it remotely possible for him to drive in 80 from the 9 hole?

Drew's not a bag-stealer. @Eric: I'd go for Reyes -- better upside, more of a bargain right now, and you've got Andrus in reserve, after all. I also think you can offer a 2-for-2 trade that gives you an extra upgrade -- say, a junky closer for a better one.

Hi Grey … first question of the year: In a 14-team roto league I inexplicably ended up with Pujols and Adrian Gonzales a 1B but only Elvis at SS. Another manager ended up with Reyes and Rollins at SS but only Billy Butler at 1B. Seems like a perfect trade situation, but one he probably needs more than I do.

Question is: do I offer Gonzales straight up for either Reyes or Rollins? Or do I try for a two-for-two where he throws in a better second player than I do? And whatever the case, which of his SS do I want?
