@simply fred: Fred and HUgh, the players are already pre-loaded. NOt to speak for Fred, but but I think he means if you don't like the Chone projections it is time consuming to replace them with another set - Razzball, BP, etc.

Chone was rated#1 among all the projection systems last year.

Keep in mind projection systems don't necessarily do a great job in predicting what the league leading RBI total will be, but they do a superb job in telling you who will lead the league in RBI. They are conservative, but only because they have to be.

So in short, Chone is stellar for telling you who is going to win your league. A bit less stellar in predicting individual outcomes of the league leading players.

Hugh, I am a casual user of the War Room for snake drafts. If you are trying to get the standard War Room to work for your draft tomorrow, I will be happy to help you. However, it is pretty time consuming, and without prior working knowledge, I really think you won't be happy with trying it for the first time tomorrow.

If you have a set of players for a standard 5X5 roto (say 13 hitter and 9 pitchers), send me the names, I will load them to a War Room spreadsheet. That will at least give you Grey's projections. Also, the name you would like for your team.

@Dan: Hi Dan. How many teams do you have? It only works "out of the box" for a 12 team league, but there is a simple update you can make for it to work with fewer.

if you have a 10 team league for example, delete the records in the "Pitching Per Player" and "Batting Per Player" sections that correspond to the blank team. In the 10 team example, this would be the last two rows of each section.

Then your rank will work. Good luck!

Lou,

Thanks, this will be a huge help at my draft. I'm trying to use the auction draft with the inflation, but can't add the teams. We have 14. The formula is not the same as it is on the straight draft sheets. I added the teams and also added lines and copied the formulas on the war room pages. What am I doing wrong? The formula I see in validation is $BD$1:$BD$12. I tried changing this to 14 at the end, and it shows two more spots on the dropdown, but doesn't populate the names.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lou -
Thanks again for doing this - using it for the 2nd straight year! Question, in the AL Only War Room I downloaded everything seems to be working excep the "Pitching Rank" don't seem to be populating. Anything specific I should do?

Thanks Again!

Lou I took your spreadsheet to a whole new level man. I used it last year and wanted to expand the awesome job that you already did. YOu laid the foundation for my sheet. Here are some of the things I added to make it more usuable to all league types.

1. I took your players page and made it a total players page based on CBS projections. (this allowed me to view who the best overall player was.)

2. I created a hitters only page and a pitcher only page. (this allowed me to view who the best hitter available was. and who the best pitcher)

3. I created a page for each position C, 1B ....etc. (to help me when I needed to fill a position and see who the next best player at that position was)

4. I made it so that every page that had player names input crossed them off when selected to a team. (right now you only have the breakdown sheet doing that.)

5. I made the player page usuable for 4x4,5x5,6x6 all the way up to 15 statistical catagories for owners. This feature allowed me to keep track of every catagory that we score in our league for both hitters and pitchers. I found that it is also usable for a league that plays head to head also.

6. I put in a positional breakdown on the warroom page so I could track which owners still needed to fill certain positions.

7. I took the player selceted feature off the warrom and created its own page with stats for all players on my team.

8. I have the hitter breakdown that lets us know which team is winning it what catagory.

9. I also have a positional breakdown page that allows me to see what team is projected to score the best at whcih position. C, 1B....etc.

like i said you laid the foundation but my league is so competive that I had to come up with a way to get a bigger advantage. Thanks so much for your time on this and if you are interested in viewing the one I created please email me at jerdogg2587@yahoo.com

Really nice tool! I just wish it had an easy way to update players on the fly. I was using the NL Auction Draft version, and there were a lot of players that I had to unlock the sheet and add, which actually messed it up when I tried to summarize and track later. Also, it would be great if it showed tabs for each team's lineup so I could see what positions my competition was desperate for, so I could strategize my auction callouts. But otherwise really great!

Great xls, thanks!
Question: on the War Room tab, the Batting Rank and Pitching Rank tables show only ###### values, usually meaning that I have to make the column a little wider. But that doesn't seem possible.
I have populated the sheet with the 7 teams and 8 keepers per team for our 15x15, 600$ team budget league.
Thnx!

For those who noticed that the Projected Rankings on the war room tab are incorrrectly calculated for ERA and WHIP (high number is bad not good) simply click on a cell and change the '1' after the last comma to a '0' that's zero not oh. this will then give you more ranking points for good era and whip.
love the spreadsheet!

@Mike: Mike, happy to take a look. If something simple, I am sure I can handle, if the whole sheet is fouled up I don't think I will have the time to recreate it.

@Matthew Raynor:Not sure what file you are using, but i think my comment above will hit the mark in your situation too...

@Dexter: Hi Dexter. I knew there was a reason why I didn’t include ranks in my initial straight draft. The formula isn’t recognizing the fact you don’t have 24 total teams. I don’t know how to automatically change this, but there is a one time manual work around you can do.

If you have a 10 team league, delete the records below Team 10 in both the batter and pitcher per player sections. In the 10 team league example, this would be rows 94 through 111. If you had 12 teams, it would be row 96 through 111.

Hope this helps!

Incredible program. I just inputted all the information from our draft and I am having trouble getting the Projected Batting Ranks and the Projected Pitching Ranks to spit out the information. I'm assuming I need to signify somewhere that it is only 12 teams and not 25 teams? Please let me know.Once again incredible spreadsheet

Hey Lou:

I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor. I updated the 2009 spreadsheet myself with ranks and projections from cbs sportsline. However, along the way , I seem to have fouled up some of the formulas. If I email you the file, could you work your magic to make everything work. I'd be glad to compensate you for your time. You could even use it yourself/make it available for download, as it is up to date. I dont think it would take very long for you. I just dont have the time or patience. Thanks!
