Let's see a closer from the Royals get more than 30 saves before you start naming your kids Joakim.

Soria should be a tier higher...over 1K/IP and a delightful K/BB of 3.94

A knee injury can alter throwing motions and cause other problems. Two months ago when I liked Lidge he had issues, now there's an injury. Why would you want this headache?

Ranking Brad Lidge 30th is a MASSIVE mistake. I'm glad you gave the Wire some love, but this injury was to his knee and the problem that wasn't fixed by Houston doctors is now officially fixed. Injuries won't be his problem. If you liked him 2 months ago, then you think he can survive any head issues, which means he certainly belongs higher than 30.

I could see Soria being good value for closer that will be drafted late. The only thing holding him back is the Royals. I think they have an outside shot of being this year's 07 Brewers, which in the AL Central means a .500 record and coming in third. But recent history tells us their closer will be lucky to get 30 saves that was why he was placed where he was.

My girlfriend never saw the first four seasons so I will be airing The Wire for the next three months. I can't wait to relive every episode.

I think of Soria as being a little closer to Prop Joe territory. His stuff looks great, and his peripherals were gorgeous. Sure, he plays for the Royals, but even they won 69 games last year. I don't have the #s in front of me, but I'm willing to bet that they're wins are going to be closer games than, say, Boston's or NY's.

The Wire - RIP. Hands down, one of the finest television shows ever.

<em>Walter's last blog post..<a href='http://leagueplay.blogspot.com/2008/03/other-lebowski-d-harens-2nd-half.html' rel="nofollow">The Other Lebowski: D. Haren's 2nd Half</a></em>

Thanks for the link. I still think this is not going to be decided in spring training. If Marmol or Wood blow back to back games in April, Howry won't get a shot beacuse of what he did in March? This will probably be closer by committee for the better part of the year.

According to BleedCubbieBlue yesterday (http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2008/3/11/195742/471), Howry is probably out and the Cubs closer job is between Marmol and Wood.

They say that the Cubs want to know how Wood can do on back to back days.

I put what little money I have on Wood.
